Dear Families,

We are so excited to bring Ralph and Motorcycle by Beverly Cleary to our school for One Book One School! This is the second year we have done this as a whole school community. A big thank you to families and Student Council for helping us raise the funds needed to purchase these books. Every student received their own copy after our kick-off assembly on April 10th and we all began reading Chapter 1. Here is the reading schedule one more time:

Our goal as a school is to read 10,000 minutes! We are also partnering with our Booster Club as they kick off the Read-A-Thon. We have some fun activities planned during these next few weeks and hope you will read along with your child at home. Here are some additional activities to complete as a family if you would like. Beauty & the Beast!

Our CES Drama Club has been working incredibly hard to prepare a spectacular show for you this year! Our cast of 3rd - 5th graders will be performing the musical Beauty & the Beast and you won't want to miss it. The musical is organized and created by our own Centennial community and sponsored by our CES Booster Club. Performances will be the first week of May on the 4th and 5th at 7pm, and then on the 6th at both 3pm and 7pm, located here on our CES stage. Get ready to be wholly delighted by our amazing cast!

Message from Transportation

If your student rides the bus, you may have received an email with a link regarding “Stopfinder.” This is an app that allows you to sign up for notifications regarding your student’s bus. Please check your email for the link and app. More information can be found here: Stopfinder

 

Kindergarten Registration 2023-24

We are gearing up for the next school year already. If you have picked up a packet, please drop it off at the office. If you know someone who still needs to register, please have them stop by the front office, or they can register online (for students new to OSD). Online student enrollment

 

Booster Club Read-A-Thon

Information went home the week before Spring Break. The money collected from the Read-A-Thon will be used to support our school. Attached is the Prize breakdown. Keep on reading!

 

Survey - Is Your Child Returning to Centennial?

During Conference Week, your student’s teacher should have had you fill out a form regarding next year. If you did not get this, please contact the office. It’s hard to believe we’re already starting to plan!

 

Class Picture Day- May

Clintworth Photography will be at Centennial to take class pictures on Thursday May 11th. More information will be forthcoming.

 

Washington Middle School – 5th graders going on to 6th grade

For 5th graders moving up to WMS. Families should have received an email on March 23rd with a link for a Google Slideshow. It should also be posted in your Skyward Family Access page. That slideshow includes a link to the Google Form to register your student and to choose their electives. It is also available on the WMS website under ‘Announcements.’ Questions should be directed to: [email protected]

 

Walk ‘n’ Roll

Hey Centennial Stars, it’s time to Walk N Roll to School! Intercity Transit’s Walk N Roll program invites all students and families to join Centennial a morning walk or roll on April 10th!

Remember to look left, right and left again before crossing the street, making eye contact with drivers of oncoming vehicles to make sure they see you!

Students who walk or roll to school get a prize!
