Front Office Update

I just wanted to take the time to introduce myself as I’ve been sending out Skyward messages with just my name, “Megan” and no other explanation. Apologies for that! For those families who have been here a long time, you might remember Roz, who was a secretary here for many years. Well I am the “new Roz”, my name is Megan Green, and I’m happy to be a part of the Centennial team. Thankfully Ruth is still up here in the office to help me navigate how things are done here. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions. We’re happy to help. Looking forward to a great year!

Conference Week & Signing up for your Conference Time

Fall Conferences will start on Tuesday, October 26th through Friday, October 29th from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. We are looking forward to partnering with you! We will Zoom Conference with families and students via Schoology, this Fall. Log into your child’s Schoology page and click into your teacher’s “Zoom” link at your conference time.

  • Families with 2 or more Centennial Students may sign up for conferences starting October 8th
  • All Centennial Families sign up starting on October 11th

If you are unable to schedule through Skyward for any reason, please call the front office and Megan or Ruth will assist you. Online conference scheduling will close on Friday, October 22nd. If you need to schedule or make changes after that time, please contact the classroom teacher.

Tip: Use your desktop computer or laptop to access the Skyward - Conference Tab. The Skyward-Mobile App on your phone does not have all the features to set up conferences. The Skyward-Mobile App is best used as a view only.

Information on how to sign up through Skyward will follow later this week. Stay tuned!

The Scholastic VIRTUAL Book Fair is coming to Centennial!

Our Scholastic Book Fair will be held online this Fall and it runs for 2 full weeks. The book fair begins on October 25th and runs through November 7th. Flyers will be sent home the week before the book fair begins!

Our online book fair helps our students discover new books and characters AND every online purchase helps our school buy new BOOKS for our library! So if you can, please visit our Scholastic Book Fair webpage to place a book order. Shipping is free on book-only purchases over $25.

Thank you for instilling a LOVE of reading and supporting our Book Fair! Click the link to visit our Book Fair webpage.

Fall Forms – Update Student Information Online- Please complete

Parents can start to update your child’s “Fall Start of School Forms” in Skyward-Family Access.
Look for 2021-22 School Registration Tab and click on your child’s name to start the update. Start clicking on the forms located on the right side: updating your phone numbers and emergency contacts, Housing Survey, Military Family Status Form, Student Information Verification, OSD Handbook (with Acknowledgement), and Health Information. If you need to make an address correction you will need to contact the school office. Follow the instructions on that tab; fill out the form and then click submit. A quick video to help families

**If you are a newly registered family, you do not need to update unless you want to make any changes or additions.**

Halloween

With Halloween approaching at the end of the month, we ask families to remember to have their child wear appropriate attire to school. Please check with your individual teachers regarding plans for the day. Students are asked not to wear costumes, masks or anything that might scare other children and no look-a-like weapons. Also, remember no candy, due to the school district’s nutrition policy.

Extra Clothing

For those who need a change of clothes and don’t have an extra set here at school, we do have some clothes
available in the Health Room. However we are currently out of socks for any size, and we have no pants for our littlest ones. If you are able to donate a new package of socks, or gently used pants (sizes 5T-size 8) for boys or girls that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Attendance

Families please remember to call the Attendance Line at 360-596-8303 to let us know that your student will be absent from school for an illness, medical appointment or if you are gone on a trip. This will eliminate the School Messenger “robo” calls from going out.
