Centennial Stars Newsletter

Dear Centennial Families,

Ssshhhh! This is still top secret! Please do not share the title of the book with your student yet! On Monday, April 11, 2022, each student will receive their own copy of The World According to Humphrey after a special assembly introducing the book. Monday is also a school wide pajama day.

In school, your student will participate in a number of activities in all of the school settings during the next three weeks. Students should also be on the lookout for Humphrey out and about in the building. While he will stay in the library during the day, he will be visiting classrooms in the evening so that he can learn all about Centennial. Throughout the month, everyone in our school will be talking about The World According to Humphrey! I think you will agree that Humphrey is so much more than your average hamster.
You can access the Digital Resources Hub for The World According to Humphrey at:

Scroll down through the book title to find The World According to Humphrey (a red cover)
We are so excited to get reading! Happy reading!

Honk!

Our CES Drama Club has been working incredibly hard to prepare a spectacular show for you this year! Our cast of 3rd - 5th graders will be performing the musical HONK! Jr. and you won't want to miss it. The musical tells the story of the Ugly Duckling and features singing, dancing, costumes and more, all organized and created by our own Centennial community and sponsored by our CES Booster Club. Performances will be the first week of May on the 5th and 6th at 7pm, and then on the 7th at both 3pm and 7pm, located here on our CES stage. Get ready to be wholly delighted by our amazing cast! ~ Mrs. Thronson

Kindergarten Registration 2022-23

We are gearing up for the next school year already. If you have picked up a packet, please drop it off at the office. If you know someone who still needs to register, please have them stop by the front office, or they can register online. Online student enrollment

Booster Club Read-A-Thon

Information went home the week before Spring Break. The money collected from the Read-A-Thon will be used to support our school. Since we are now on our third year without Carnival, we’re hoping that this will allow us to replenish our budget and your help and support is greatly appreciated!

Survey - Is Your Child Returning to Centennial?

Please be on the lookout for a Google Form survey regarding your plans for your student(s) next year. At this point we anticipate sending it out ourselves, but that could change. It will come out sometime this month and is helpful for planning purposes for the next school year. Thank you for your help!

Class Picture Day- May

Clintworth Photography will be at Centennial to take class pictures on Thursday May 12th. More information will be forthcoming.

Washington Middle School – 5th graders going on to 6th grade

For 5th graders moving up to WMS. Families should have received an email on March 25th with a link for a Google Slideshow. It should also be posted in your Skyward Family Access page. That slideshow includes a link to the Google Form to register your student and to choose their electives. It is also available on the WMS website under ‘Announcements.’ Questions should be directed to: [email protected]
